Hostel for Moderately Mentally Handicapped Persons with Visual Impairment
Service Description
It provides home living for persons with moderate mental handicap who are capable of basic self-care but lack adequate daily living skills to live independently in the community.
Eligibility for the Service
Moderately mentally handicapped persons who are:
- aged 15 or aboveNote;
- physically and mentally suitable for group living;
- physically healthy with no active infectious disease; and
- actively occupied in or being arranged for admission to day placement.
Note: Visually and Mentally Handicapped Persons (Applicable to designated residential care homes for persons with disabilities only).
Application Procedures
Referrals can be made by social workers and staff of rehabilitation service units to the Central Referral System for Rehabilitation Services of the SWD. The application is free of charge.
Fees and Charges
- $1,481 per month for 50% disabled adults;
- $1,559 per month for 100% disabled adults / Disability Allowance recipients.
