Day Respite Service
Description
Respite services provide persons with disabilities living in the community with short-term day care. They provide relief for carers so that they may take short-term breaks or attend to other matters when required. They aim at encouraging and helping persons with disabilities to continue living in the community for as long as possible.
Day Respite Service is provided by Day Activity Centres / District Support Centres for Persons with Disabilities / Care and Attention Home for Severely Disabled Persons (DACs / DSCs / C&A/SDs). Users of day respite service do not need to be assessed under the Standardized Assessment Mechanism for Residential Services for People with Disabilities. Besides, Day Respite Service is also provided by the Designated Day / Residential Respite Service (DD/RRS) under Bought Place Scheme (BPS) for Private Residential Care Home for Persons with Disabilities.
