Financial Incentive Scheme for Mentors of Employees with Disabilities Receiving Subvented Vocational Rehabilitation Services
Service Description
- To facilitate the service users of subvented vocational rehabilitation services (namely supported employment training for persons with disabilities, integrated vocational rehabilitation services centre and integrated vocational training centre) to adapt to work smoothly, the Scheme provides financial incentive to workplace mentors of employees with disabilities.
- The mentor, who has rendered workplace support and assistance to an employee with disabilities for a period of not less than one month or two months, would receive an incentive pay of $500 or $1,000 respectively from the Non-governmental Organisations (NGOs) operating subvented vocational rehabilitation services.
Eligibility for the Service
The mentor will be eligible for the financial incentive under the Scheme if he/she -
- is an experienced staff appointed by the employer to provide workplace assistance to the employee with disabilities, who is a service user of subvented vocational rehabilitation services;
- has been certified by the employer to have rendered appropriate workplace assistance to the said employee with disabilities for a period of either not less than one month or not less than two months, which starts within the latter’s first three-month employment period; and
- undertakes that he/she has not received any financial incentive for mentor from other sources in respect of the same employee with disabilities.
Application Procedures
Interested employers may contact the NGOs operating subvented vocational rehabilitation services for appointment of mentors and application for the financial incentive under the Scheme. The application is free of charge.
