Innovation and Technology Fund for Application in Elderly and Rehabilitation Care
Subsidised eligible elderly and rehabilitation service units in procuring/renting and trying out technology products.  The aim is to improve the quality of life of service users and reduce the burden and pressure on care staff and carers.  Starting from September 2022, the Government has extended the eligibility for procuring/renting technology products from subsidised service units to all non-subsidised private or self-financing residential care homes for the elderly and persons with disabilities, benefitting an additional of 500 residential care homes.

Arts Development Fund for Persons with Disabilities
Subsidised non-profit making NGOs/bodies with relevant experience in organising various time-defined arts programmes or activities for PWDs.  The aim is to enhance their knowledge of the arts, foster their interest in the arts, develop their potential, and nurture PWDs with great artistic talent to help them strive for excellence or pursue a career in the arts.  In 2022-23, over $16.3 million was granted to 21 service units to implement 27 arts projects.

The Hong Kong Paralympians Fund
To foster the development of sports for athletes with disabilities and support their pursuit of sporting excellence in international events, a total funding of $4.77 million was approved in 2022-23.  Of this amount, $2.41 million was allocated to sports organisations to support the development of priority sports for PWDs (including athletics, gymnastics, skating, para-rowing, judo and sailing) and to cover related administrative expenses.  Additionally, $2.36 million was allocated to athletes with disabilities to support their efforts in achieving distinguished results in international competitions.

Special Needs Trust
The Government established the Special Needs Trust (SNT) Office in December 2018. With the Director of Social Welfare Incorporated as the trustee, SNT provides reliable and affordable trust services for managing the assets of deceased parents of children with special needs. Regular disbursements will be made to their children’s carers, who may be individuals or organisations, in accordance with their wishes. This is to ensure that their assets will be used for meeting the long-term daily needs of their children after their passing. As at 31 March 2022, the SNT Office received 47 applications for the SNT service.
