Application for Criminal and Law Enforcement Injuries Compensation (CLEIC)

Answer:：
Every application must satisfy the following conditions in order to be eligible for CLEIC :

• the incident must have been the subject of criminal proceedings, or was reported to the Police without unreasonable delay;
• the victim was legally permitted to remain in Hong Kong at the time of the incident;
• application must be made within 3 years after the date of the incident; and
• the victim died/sustained permanent disability from the incident, or the injury sustained by the victim gave rise to at least 3 days’ hospitalization/sick leave as certified by a registered medical practitioner/registered Chinese medicine practitioner.
