Special Scheme Of Assistance To The Unemployed

In view of the epidemic situation, the Government launched the time-limited Special Scheme of Assistance to the Unemployed under the CSSA Scheme with 2 time-limited measures involved, including the temporary relaxation of the CSSA asset limits by 100% for able-bodied persons implemented from 1 June 2020 to 31 May 2021 and the asset limits were restored to their original levels on 1 June 2021; as well as the cash value of insurance policies of able-bodied applicants of CSSA not counted as assets during the grace period of 1 year, implemented from 1 April to 30 September 2021, and the application period for the measure ended on 30 September 2021.

Provision Of Additional One-Off Assistance To Social Security Recipients

To ease the financial burden of the public, the Government provided an additional half-month of standard rate to CSSA recipients, and an additional half-month of allowance to recipients of Old Age Allowance (OAA) [including OAA under the Guangdong (GD) Scheme and Fujian (FJ) Scheme], Old Age Living Allowance (OALA) (including OALA under the GD Scheme and FJ Scheme) and Disability Allowance under the Social Security Allowance Scheme in May 2021.
