The Joint Committee on IT for the Social Welfare Sector
The Joint Committee on Information Technology for the Social Welfare Sector (JCIT) was set up in 2001 under the Chairmanship of the Director of Social Welfare to steer and oversee the implementation of information technology strategy and development in the welfare sector.

Terms of reference:
- To promote the use of information technology (IT) in the welfare sector for better management and delivery of services to meet service objectives.
- To formulate strategy and oversee the implementation plan for IT investment and development in the sector, including infrastructure, communications, system applications, accessibility and humanware.
- To formulate strategy to facilitate the welfare sector to implement IT plans for enabling service recipients to access IT to improve their quality of living.
- To provide advice on the IT projects funded/ to be funded by the Social Welfare Department.
